Day 1: Discover Howard Smith Wharves & Story Bridge

This trip could not start without exploring the famous city spots as Howard Smith Wharves & Story Bridge.

What can you see? Beneath Story Bridge, Howard Smith Wharves(built in the 1930s) is a riverside spot with the twinkling beauty of bars and restaurants like Felons Brewery and Greca. In the 1930s, it worked as a cargo handling and shipping spot, named after the shipping company Howard Smith Co Ltd, as a key distribution point. Today, it is a travelling spot that contains riverside views, restaurants & bars, and event space. After that, Story Bridge was completed in 1940 with 0.8km length which connecting Fortitude Valley to Kangaroo Point. This bridge improves the commuter route and shows the lightning view of the city.

Personal View: From my personal experience, Howard Smith is the place where we can eat, drink, and enjoy the food culture. However, Story Bridge is the bridge above Howard Smith as an iconic spot of the city. Then, after enjoying the beauty and advancement, we went home for the rest due to travelling. Even nature and the environment are also adaptable to a warmer climate annually. As a result, it is palpable for fun activities to do in Brisbane.

Day 2: Visit Wildlife at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary & Moreton Bay

In Australia, people are attached to nature and ecosystem with the help of these sanctuaries & nature-oriented spots.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (established in 1972), which is located in the Fig Tree Pocket suburb. It is the world’s first and largest sanctuary that invites you to cuddle Koalas, feed Kangaroos & wallabies, and shows a wide range of native birds & reptiles.

Experience: The next day, we went to the sanctuary. Initially, I was afraid, but the caretaker helped me a lot. There is also a daily presentation about Koalas, birds of prey, for conservation and economic balance.

Moreton Bay (a large & beautiful bay on the eastern coast of Queensland). It is popular for its blue waters, different aquatic species, and a chain of islands. This bay is home to dolphins, dugongs, sea turtles, and humpback whales. Its length is about 125km from north to south, full of seagrass and reefs, making it a biodiversity hotspot. Also, you can have fun activities as boating, scuba diving, and island camping.

Activities: In the evening, we visited there just after the Koala Sanctuary. Then we did scuba diving, which is a worthwhile and unbelievable experience. After that, we tried boating, which showed the natural beauty of the country with different marine life. However, I went unconscious for a second while scuba diving, as it was new to me. Boating also makes us understand why this is a biodiversity hotspot.

Day 3: Cultural Diversity at South Bank Parklands

Descripton: After having fun on Story Bridge, Moreton Bay & Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary then we began discovering the cultural diversity of this beautiful country. For this, we went to the South Bank Parklands, which is a mix of gardens, cultural spots, dining, and riverside views along the southern bank of the Brisbane River. It is a street’s man-made beach having white sand and a swimming area. It also has the beauty of a shady trail with dense tropical planting as a lush. In addition, it has a pink bougainvillea flower cover that is perfect for clicking images with a kilometer-long walkway.

Moreover, this is well-known for its food & culture that makes it a family-friendly spot. We had a picnic with live music at River Quey Green. After that, this place is suitable for art-loving people. Also, you can explore the Queensland Museums. There are dozens of cafes, bars, and restaurants along Little Stanley Street & Grey Street.

Activties: You can see the events and enjoy the activities there. The higher authorities host weekend markets, food festivals, and open-air concerts. Moreover, free fitness classes and seasonal lights are most common there. They even provide playgrounds, water play areas, and pop-up events during school holidays that are family-oriented.

Day 4: Visit Mount Coot‑tha Botanic Gardens

Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens is the tallest peak and one of the most loved spots for the city view. We started hiking in the morning and reached the peak in an hour. Statistically, it is 287m above sea level. After that, you can see the balance between the advancement and biodiversity of nature. It even makes you feel the nostalgia of an environment full of peace.

Facilities & Spots: There are so many facilities related to cafes and restaurants at the lookout. There are picnic areas and BBQ areas at Slaughter Falls. Moreover, the cactus houses & Japanese garden immense its beauty with ecological biodiversity. Without this view, it is worthless on this trip.

Experience: During this trip, I met with strangers and learned their basic English. We even deeply knew the beauty of ecological and technical balance. Also, I met my American-Indian tour guide named Balota, who has been living there since childhood. He even told us the history and high-value sectors which are environment-friendly as agricultural, EV, and wildlife conservation. We just reached the top in an hour and enjoyed the food & hotel facilities there. After that, I enjoyed the view with snacks & beverages. During this hike, I saw a variety of insects and birds. Moreover, when we came back, it was about 2 in the afternoon. Then we went to the restaurant for lunch. Eventually, I explored the Story Bridge at last during travel, as I had to catch my flight at 2 in the morning.

It was the best travel as compared to a spiritual & educational trip, which showed me the world from a point of view that is missing in our own country. Also, this city can be an inspiration for other countries that are willing to friendly advancement.
